Detailed Analysis of the Biofeedback Bodyscan

The BodyScan 2010 is a multi-channel, bio-feedback device that also incorporates single channel biofeedback test capability. It is unique among single-channel devices in that it has the capacity to vary the voltage signal between 0.5 and 5.0volts, allowing the practitioner to adjust the amplification of the signal to match the sensitivity of the client.

In multi-channel mode, the BodyScan does not electrically stress the meridians through specific contact points: instead, it measures the total evoked potential of the body that is, the number and degree of changes that occur throughout the body in response to a signal. Information is sent and received through several "data collection sites" which serve to monitor the entire somatic response. A stress signal (or "wave pattern") travels throughout the body in a three-dimensional, radar-like pattern until it encounters that same signal in the form of a "metabolized response" (the product of a stressor being fixed into a cell's memory). The resulting excitation sends an associate wave pattern back to the data collection sites, where it is recorded. Its multi-dimensional nature allows the signal to evoke responses non-locally-that is the responses may come from anywhere within the body, and from any level of cellular activity being affected by the stressor. The process is known as "non-cognitive biofeedback". BodyScan works with a multi-channel "harness test" that applies a series of electrodes to the forehead, wrists and ankles. The device then performs a calibration test, which establishes two-way communication between body and computer. During the test the BodyScan sends thousands of specific micro-frequencies throughout the body, measuring the changes in wave patterns as they encounter similar or dissimilar frequencies associated with the cells. To maintain the accuracy of the scan, the device re-calibrates with the body after each frequency is measured, so that the cells return to their normal mode before the next signal is sent. When the scan is complete, the data is analyzed and reported according to the type of variations in the signals. Variations include changes in wavelength and amplitude, the time it takes for a signal to return to its original waveform, and the total number of deviations from the original wave. For each signal tested, the numbers are sorted according to Rise, Fall, Duration, Change Slope, and Multi-Phasic Response. A work set is compiled from the highest Multi-Phasic Response and selected responses from Duration, Fall, Rise, and Slope. Potency and dilution are tested for each part of the work set and included in the final homeopathic solution.

"Single-channel" testing utilizes EAV testing, (Electrical Acupuncture as taught by Dr. Voll). One of the main principles behind Voll's technique is "Galvanic Skin Response", which measures resistance at various points on the body, by introducing minute electrical voltage from the biofeedback equipment. The procedure is "stress testing", a measurement of the body's capacity to carry an electrical load efficiently. The electrical signal is introduced at a low level, just high enough to evoke a response from the body but still completely safe. Based on the readings, the body will "talk back" clearly through measurable data. Single-channel testing refers to basic, electromechanical units that are capable of testing only one contact point at a time; thus, only one meridian, or channel of information, is being accessed at a time. These units help monitor the stability and changes of energy meridians in the body via skin conductivity. These devices function much like a thermometer, displaying the various meridian readings on the scale.

The devices can test meridians against a "generic" electrical signal, which provides an indication of overall stress; or they can test for meridian response against a specific substance that is brought into the bioelectric "loop" between client and machine. Their operation is based upon the "balanced" or "normal" standard measurement of health originally established by Voll, which shows on the dial at 50. This is actually 50% resistance at 100K ohms and 1.5 volts. In modern devices, depending on manufacturer and local regulations, the voltage can range from .5 to 5.0.

Whether multi-channel or single-channel is used, the information is collected into the master database. A report can then be developed based upon the accumulated data. Also, a homeopathic remedy is chosen and prepared based upon the scan information. This remedy is made up of 2 distinct parts.

                    1.     The physical constitution of the remedy (also called a tincture) is chosen for its natural properties based upon the highest readings on the scan report. At times, several tinctures  are selected, and one is chosen based upon the body's single-channel response to the homeopathic remedy. A response of 50 on the scale indicates a remedy that will work well with the body as a whole.

                    2.     In addition to the tincture, the remedy is imprinted at the molecular level with the specific frequency of each substance according to its potency and dilution. This frequency, or set of frequencies, will hold within the physical constitution of the remedy for an extended period of time (we recommend using the remedy within 1 year), unless it is exposed to extended direct sunlight or temperatures in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

The BodyScan 2010 measures, stores, and sends to the computer how much and how  quickly the Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) of the body changes.

The BodyScan measures Galvanic Skin Response (GSR). According to Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) is the measurement of the change in the electrical resistance of the skin in response to emotional stimuli.

The BodyScan does not cure, treat or diagnose any diseases or ailments. Only a licensed  Medical Doctor (MD) is qualified to do so.
